Rescued horse

Skippy was born to our rescued mare, Ebba! Skippy is a beautiful colt who was born on the Navy Nurse Corps birthday of May 13th, 2024. Skippy’s donor was a Navy Nurse, so to honor our donor and all Navy Nurses, we gave him a maritime-themed name. He was born at the quarantine facility safely and is super healthy. Stay tuned to see how this handsome guy grows up!

UPDATE!!!! On January 29th, we confirmed/found out that Skippy broke his knee while out in pasture. We believe he slipped and fell on the snow/ice. He requires a knee surgery to fix it or we may need to put him down, as it will not correct on it’s own. We’ve decided to go to CSU as their Veterinary College is ranked 2nd in the United States and they have the best team to do this. His surgery will cost roughly $6000, with no complications. CSU recommends I be prepared to spend $10,000 though in case he has reactions to medications or if the CT Scan shows something different.
